Next episode isn't playing automatically

If the next episode doesn't play on its own, make sure your profile is set to play the next episode automatically.

If the setting is correct but the next episode doesn't automatically play, follow these steps.

Android phone or tablet

Note:
Some Android devices can't automatically play the next episode when connected to a TV using a cable.
Update the Netflix app
  1. Open the Play Store app.

  2. In the Search bar, search for "Netflix."

  3. From the search results, tap the Netflix app.

  4. Tap Update.

    • If you see only Uninstall or Open, the Netflix app is already up to date.

If the Netflix app doesn't show in the search results, follow the steps in Can't find the Netflix app in app stores.

iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Note:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch devices can't automatically play the next episode when connected to a TV using a cable.
Update the Netflix app
  1. From the Home screen, tap the App Store icon.

  2. Tap Search, then enter "Netflix" in the search box.

  3. Tap Netflix, then tap Update.

  4. Enter your iTunes password if prompted.

  5. Once the update is complete, try Netflix again.

All other devices

Restart your device
  1. Turn off your device. If your device has a power cable, unplug it.

    Note:
    Make sure your device is completely off, not just in sleep or standby mode.
  2. Leave your device off for 30 seconds.

  3. Turn on your device and try Netflix again.
