The 2023 NBA All-Star Game will be an exhibition game played on February 19, 2023, on the 30th anniversary of the first All-Star Game held in Salt Lake City. It will be the 72nd edition of the event. The game will be hosted by the Utah Jazz at Vivint Arena. The game will be televised nationally by TNT for the 21st consecutive year.
The announcement of the site selection was made on October 23, 2019 at a press conference held by the NBA and the Jazz.
If selected, current 18-time All-Star LeBron James will have the opportunity to tie Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most All-Star selections.

The game will also mark the 30th anniversary since the first NBA All-Star game was played in Salt Lake City in 1993,
Preceding the big game, it's an entire weekend of festivities and entertainment beginning with the Rising Stars Challenge on Friday, February 17, followed by the ever-popular slam dunk contest during All Star Saturday Night on Saturday, February 18..
Of course, that all leads up to the big finale -- when the NBA All Star game airs on TNT at 8PM ET on Sunday.on its traditional broadcast home, TNT.

• The NBA All Star game has been relocated only once, in 2017, when the game moved to New Orleans LA from Charlotte NC to protest North Carolina's controversial HB2 law. The legislation banned NC city governments from passing ordinances that protect members of the LGBT community from discrimination. [The law was later modified so that Charlotte would be eligible to host the NBA All Star Game in 2019.]
