DStv has a service called DStv online that makes it possible for any DStv customer it doesnt matter what package youre on to watch the same channels and shows you can watch on your decoder at home, but on your phone.
There is no additional fee or charge the DStv online service is free for all DStv subscribers.
What is DStv online?
Its an online streaming service free to all DStv subscribers. The DStv App for smartphones, tablets, computers and smart TVs has all the content available on your decoder. Go to now.dstv.com to register.
How to sign up for DStv online
- Go to now.dstv.com and click the Sign up button.
- Fill in your email address, mobile number and choose a strong password.
- Click Create an Account.
- Next step is to link your DStv account to the DStv online streaming service.
- Fill in the DStv account holders ID number, your DStv smartcard number, or your DStv customer number. Any will work.
- Once youve linked DStv online to your DStv account, youll receive a confirmation email.
- Youre officially signed up for DStv online.
How to watch DStv on your phone
- Download the DStv App [Android / Apple] for your phone [or tablet].
- Log in using the email address and password you created when you signed up for DStv online.
- Choose either Live [to see the TV channels on your package] or Catch Up [to see the latest episodes of shows youre watching].
- Start watching!
How to watch DStv channels on your phone
- Log into the DStv App and go to Live.
- Scroll to find your favourite channels, such as Mzansi Magic and 1Magic.
- Hit play.
Tip: Youll be able to see the same TV channels that are part of your DStv package the same ones you watch on your decoder.
How does DStv online work for Compact subscribers?
If you are a DStv customer, it doesnt matter which DStv package you are subscribed to DStv Compact Plus, Compact, Family, Easy or Access you can still watch DStv on your phone or computer using DStv online. Just follow the steps above to sign up.
How to watch Mzansi Magic, 1Magic and Moja Love on your phone or computer
If youre addicted to shows from Mzansi Magic and 1Magic on DStv like The River, The Queen, Nqobile and Finding Bongani Fassie, youll be happy to know theyre all on DStv online.

Missed an episode?
If you missed an episode of your fave 1Magic, Moja Love or Mzansi Magic show, go to Catch Up. Type the name of the show into the Search bar and it should pop up. Click play!

- Go to now.dstv.com in your browser.
- Log in using the email address and password you created when you signed up for DStv online.
- Go to either Live or Catch Up and find something to watch.

How do I know Im signed up for DStv online?
You will be able to log in at now.dstv.com with the email address and password you provided when you signed up. Once logged in, you should see the same Live channels and Catch Up content that is available on the decoder at home.
