How to Delete a Playlist on Spotify – Android

When it’s time to say goodbye to a playlist on Spotify, you can erase it in a few steps. But keep in mind that you can’t erase a playlist someone else has created.

First, open the app and tap on the Your Library tab at the bottom. Long-press on the playlist you want to erase and choose the Erase Playlist option.

Desktop

To erase any playlist from Spotify on your desktop, click on the Your Library option on upper-right and click on the playlist you want to erase. When it’s open, click on the three dots under the playlist image and choose delete.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

If you ever erase a playlist that others follow, it’ll still be available for them. If the reason you’re erasing a playlist is that you’ve shared it with too many users, you can make it private instead of erasing it.

How to Make New Playlists Public on Spotify

Make sure that in Settings, you didn’t enable the option that makes your new playlists public. You can check by clicking on the drop-down menu to the right of your username and then go to Settings. Under Social, uncheck or check the box that says that your new playlists will be public.

If you ever want to have a private listening session on your public playlist, you can. Click on the drop-down menu to the side of your username and choose the Private Session option.

Sometimes you can figure out easy things to do on an app, but you need some help other times. Hi everyone,

Thanks for your replies so far.

We can confirm that the way collaborative playlists work was changed recently. The playlist owner still has full control over the playlist and can add or remove tracks freely, but when it comes to collaborators, they can only remove the songs they've personally added. This is done to prevent the potential unwanted data loss within the playlist.

Hope this clears things up. The Community is always here if there's anything else you need assistance with.

Cheers!

Hi @DikkeMoi,

Thanks for the reply!

Here's an idea about adding multiple users who can edit the collaborative playlist's content that's caught our developers' attention and is currently being considered, so we encourage you to check it out, +VOTE for it [if you haven't already] and share your feedback. You can also Subscribe to the thread so you're notified when there are any updates on the matter.

Stay safe!
