Langley College Listening

What's covered?

At Langley, we offer a range of part time courses in English for those people who do not speak English as their first language. Many of our classes are in the evenings. We teach English at many different levels, from beginners to advanced [Pre-Entry to Level 2]. Some of our students already speak quite good English, but want to improve their skills so they can get a better job; others may be new to learning English and will need to start from the beginning. Our classes begin in September and February, but it should be possible to start at other times as well. Our classes help to develop the four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing, as well as building vocabulary and teaching the structures of the language. Homework is given each week. Students also have the opportunity to take part in our trips to a number of interesting places.

What do you need?

Before you can join one of our classes, you will need to come to an enrolment session at Langley College. This will help us to find the right class for you.

How you are assessed

All our students work towards examinations in Speaking and Listening or Reading and Writing offered by Cambridge ESOL or Trinity College London. These will be taken at the end of each term.

How Long?

Classes are held twice a week. Some courses are for one term, others are for one year. Talk to the teacher to see what is best for you.

What course next?

When you have finished your course, your teacher will advise you which class to take next.

What could this lead to?

Good English skills are important for many reasons. Our range of courses is designed to equip learners with the skills they need for both their personal and working lives.
