North Country Fair

2023 marks the 45th year of Driftpile’s North Country Fair . The outdoor music and arts festival focuses on celebrating the summer solstice and the beginning of the season. The festival has an adults-only campground, and a family-friendly campground. And beyond the music stage, there will be a fair and children’s activities, and a large artisan market.

Bear Creek Folk Festival

The Bear Creek Folk Fest in Grande Prairie have announced their 2023 lineup while promising a larger show and festival than last year’s. The 2023 Bear Creek Folk Festival takes over Muskoseepi Park in late August for a full weekend of live music. Some of those musical acts include Blue Rodeo, The Strumbellas, Alex Cuba, Captain Tractor, and many more.

Inter. Sect Art & Music Festival

High Prairie’s Inter. Sect Art and Music Festival will have a lineup large enough to fill four days. The festival celebrates art and music in many ways, most notably the live performances. There are also opportunities to check out art exhibits, the market, and workshops, and more activities. You can camp onsite, and there is a quiet family camping area for those with kids.

Beaumont Blues & Roots Festival

Beaumont’s annual Blues & Roots Festival have some major artists appearing in 2023. And the festival offers onsite camping to make your festival experience a bit more convenient. Some of those acts scheduled for June include Fefe Dobson, The Rural Alberta Advantage, and Finger Eleven.

Soundtrack Music Festival

Edmonton is celebrating the return of the new-ish Soundtrack Music Festival in Kinsmen Park. There are a variety of genres on the 2023 Soundtrack lineup, making it a fun opportunity to get together as a big group. The festival is all outdoors for the two days, but there is no camping in Kinsmen Park.

Rock the District

Rock the District is making its first-ever appearance in downtown Edmonton as an outdoor music festival. What better way to make use of the new Ice District Fan Park over the warmer months than with a large stage and outdoor music? The lineup is filled with classic rock icons, all of which have received multiple JUNO awards or nominations.

Ravenwood Music Festival

Strathcona County is the annual home of the Ravenwood Music Festival . The central Alberta festival boasts two full days of live music in the park with genres like rock, folk, and country. Performances by Sass Jordan, The Long Run, Playing with Fire Band, Rated R, Steven Sware, Two Late To The Party, Jacquie Daniels, River Poets, Payphones, & Crescendo Music Studios.

The festival is right in Sherwood Park where there are multiple hotels available

TD Edmonton International Jazz Festival

There will be many days, and venues, for finding a show in the International Jazz Festival lineup. These include both indoor and outdoor venues, large areas like the Winspear, and more intimate areas like Snow Valley Ski Club. Stay tuned to their social media and website for lineup announcements.

Blueberry Bluegrass Festival

Stony Plain’s Blueberry Bluegrass Festival will take place over three days this year. And on top of live performances and music, the festival will also host workshops, jamming circles, food trucks, and a market of local vendors. The 2023 lineup for the Bluegrass Festival includes acts such as AJ Lee & Blue Summit, the Becky Buller Band, Po’ Ramblin’ Boys, and The Gift, to name a few. Onsite camping is available for an extra charge.

Edmonton Folk Music Festival

Sign up for the EFMF newsletter If you want the latest information on ticket sales for the August event. The tickets usually go on sale in the spring. Folk Fest in Edmonton always guarantees a great time on Gallagher Hill, where guests can set up blankets and watch the sun go down over Edmonton. The festival is a combination of international and local performers.

Edmonton Blues Festival

The Edmonton Blues Festival is in a new location for 2023 as the Hawrelak Park amphitheatre is upgraded over the summer. For 2023, concertgoers can enjoy the Blues Festival from the grass of RE/MAX Field. The baseball field has a larger capacity, too, so more people can attend in 2023. This year’s lineup is officially scheduled.

Pembina River Nights

What better venue for a music festival than the shady and green shores of one of Alberta’s rivers? The annual Pembina River Nights [Evansburg] offer two full evenings of live music outside, on the river’s shores. The festival has camping is available for both nights and is included in the price of passes. Pembina River Nights guest have access to a small beach on the river, washrooms, and firewood. The lineup has a huge variety of musical genres from local performers.

Wild Mountain Music Festival

Hinton’s Wild Mountain Music Festival do not have their full lineup yet; however, they do have some exciting headliners already scheduled. These include the Strumbellas, Steve Marriner, and Altameda. You can stay the entire weekend in the campground, with the festival even offering tents for rent.

Shady Grove Blue Grass Music Festival

The annual Shady Grove Blue Grass Festival will have three days of live music in 2023. The lineup is set to include all the best in Canada’s bluegrass musical talent. Blue Suede Music Festival

Celebrate the king of rock and roll this summer with Westlock’s Blue Suede Music Festival . The performers include a variety of Elvis tribute acts, and the festival seeks to raise funds and food for the Edmonton Food Bank. This year is the festival’s first return since the COVID-19 restrictions, so the organizers are ready to rock. In 2019, the festival managed to raise over 4,600 lbs. of food.

Big Valley Jamboree

BVJ always promises a big lineup of country music acts, and 2023 is no different. The 2023 Big Valley Jamboree is already selling up tickets for both general weekend passes and the campground. This could be thanks to the announcement of Morgan Wallen, Dierks Bentley, Dallas Smith, and High Valley as some big acts.

Pigeon Lake Music Festival

Vibes Music Festival

Feel the vibes this summer in northern Alberta. The Vibes Music Festival is an adults-only dance party which takes place over three days. The event is not-for-profit, and celebrates Alberta’s local arts scene through exhibits, live performances, workshops, and other activities.

Loud as Hell Festival

Things will be loud in Drumheller this summer. More specifically, the area will get Loud as Hell from August 4th to 6th with the annual metal music festival. This is a one-of-a-kind festival experience in Alberta, with outdoor performances in the heart of the Badlands. Onsite camping is included in the weekend pass prices.

Bro-Tel Backyard Festival

WayneStock

The Rosedeer Hotel, built in 1913 and home to the Last Chance Saloon and restaurant, hosts WayneStock , a three-day music festival over Labour Day weekend. Over 40 bands will play various genres of music, including rock, bluegrass, country, hillbilly, and gypsy blues. While the lineup is not yet known, the festival is known for its intimate atmosphere which draws festival goers year after year.

LieLow Music Fest

Badlands Music Festival

Calgary’s Badlands Music Festival has accompanied the Stampede for a number of years now. It is a full-on dance party for a week straight and can be an excellent way to end your day at the Calgary Stampede. DJs perform indoors under the massive Badlands Tent and there are some big names included in the 2023 lineup. Skrillex, Lee Brice, Fisher, and Loud Luxury.

Calgary Folk Music Festival

One of Calgary’s nicest and most scenic parks is also the home of the city’s annual Folk Music Festival. Calgary’s biggest EDM festival, Chasing Summer , promises a return for August 2023. Taber and Spider Entertainment art teaming up to the bring Cornstock ’23 to southern Alberta this year.
