Yes, NBC confirmed that The Blacklist was renewed for season 9 in January 2021. Only three episodes of season 8 had aired when the announcement was made.

The Hollywood Reporter earlier highlighted that its the third-longest running scripted series on the network, coming in behind Law & Order: SVU and Chicago Fire. The viewing figures have continued to impress, with episodes 1 and 2 of season 8 averaging a 1.2 rating in the key ad demographic adults 18-49- and 7.2 million viewers, accounting for both delayed viewing and streaming.

Taking all of this into consideration, its clear that NBC are confident in the show and the general audience reaction to the latest crop of episodes suggests fans are too.
