Awaiting allocation, when will 2022 become 2023

I know several of us are still awaiting an allocation. It is now March and with a few month build delay I wonder when BMW will stop allocations for 2022 Z4s?

Guessing sometime around June. Usually July-ish is model year switch over. Thinking that is pretty close to norm on switch over.

Considering there is an LCI planned, I wonder if 2022 models will be extended. I believe I have heard the LCI goes into production in November.

Has the LCI been confirmed by BMW? I saw the teaser video, but couldn't see anything different that was obvious. Thankfully they did not use the HUGE nostrils in the teaser video for the 23 model. I don't think it would look good on the Z4.

I haven't seen any reliable news on a new model z4. Mine is the 2022 g29. There's a fake video on YouTube, but they might discontinue it. The sales of the z4 and other convertibles are declining and have been for years. Not sure why.

Everyone want SUVs or trucks. Now that the gas price is going up that may change.

probably this one:

But it's a fan video and not an official one, and the car in it is probably not an LCI.

EV owners are probably laughing right now at the high gas prices.

At least the B58 engine has really good fuel economy, even in the SUV. I'm now glad I didn't get the V8 in my X6.

They wouldn't be laughing as much if they weren't getting a government credit to buy an EV.

I'm thinking about kicking my production start date until they start up the 2023 LCI production. Is it almost always November when that happens for new model years?

My production date was supposed to be last week, but with all the chip/wiring/ship problems, I think unfortunately even if they start soon, I may not get it until the fall anyway...

Will the BMW Z4 be a future classic?

Throw in classic sports car proportions, a BMW with an inline-six, and open top motoring and there's no doubt about it: the Z4 M40i is a future classic.

Is BMW Cancelling the Z4?

Motor.es claims that BMW will give the Z4 a mild update in 2023 that will see the convertible receive a new digital instrument cluster. After that, production of the Z4 will end in October 2025. The outlet also states that BMW has no plans to come out with a replacement for the Z4 after the vehicle is discontinued.

Is a BMW Z4 worth buying?

At its base price, the Z4 Drive30i is a reasonable value. It costs considerably less than its main rival, the Porsche 718 Boxster, and it offers more than enough performance for most buyers.
