Its hard to believe that less than 10 years ago, the epitome of cool was having a souped-up MySpace page complete with lots of flashy, glittery gifs that said things like cutie with a bootie.
Now, in the age where Instagram is the ultimate platform for self-expression, the opposite is true. Many of the most IG popular accounts employ a less-is-more approach. Instead of bright, in-your-face images, youre more likely to find a monochrome, netural aesthetic
As cool as it is to be a minimalist now, not all of these Instagrammers actually walk the walk. That is, their feeds are painstakingly curated to look minimalist, but you get the impression that they have a secret room in their houses where they stash all their other stuff.
