TUF Gaming FX505 is a part of the budget TUF series by ASUS targeted at the gamers looking for a good sub-$1000 notebook. Our tests show that the screen doesnt have very good quality, however, its relatively safe for your eyes [PWM-Free].FX505 has very thin bezels and good-looking design, although we arent very satisfied with the build quality.

Acer Nitro 5 [2019]

Acer Nitro 5 [2019] codenamedAN515-54 for the 15 configurations andAN517-51 for the 17 configurations is a direct competitor to the TUF FX505. Weve tested the 15-inch variant which surprised us with long battery life, RAID 0 support and good input devices. The main drawback is that it gets really hot after continuous gaming.

Acer Nitro 7 [AN715-51] is the more premium representative of the Nitro line. Compared to Nitro 5, Nitro 7 has an aluminum body and its 1 mm thinner. Just as its more budget sibling, Nitro 7 gets pretty hot on its surface [at maximum load] but it keeps the internals cool.

Acer Predator Helios 300 15 [2019, PH315-52]

Predator Helios 300 is above the mid-range level so GTX 1660 Ti is the cheapest graphics option here. The series has 15.6 Full HD IPS 144 Hz screen,2x M.2 PCIe x4 NVMe slots + 2.5 slot for HDD, and can be bought with i7-9750H or i5-9300H processor.

Alienware m15 R2 [2019]

Its a bit surprising that Alienware is trying to fight in the mid-range market too but here it is the newAlienware m15 R2 [2019] can be bought with aGTX 1660 Ti as well. As you guess,m15 R2 is a premium notebook [and premium price] it comes with up to 240 Hz / IPS screen,Core i7-9750H.

ASUS ROG Strix G531 / G731 [Scar III / Hero III]

We havent tested ASUS ROG Strix G531 yet but it looks like a great gaming notebook equipped with up toIntel Core i9-9880H and 15.6 Full HD 240 Hz IPS screen what a beast.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus GA502

Okay, thats impressive. ASUS ROG Zephyrus GA502s price starts below $1000 for a configuration withRyzen 7 3750H,GTX 1660 Ti, 8GB RAM, 256GB NVMe and 120 Hz IPS display. Plus, were talking about 20 mm thin aluminum notebook. Cant wait to get our hands on it.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus M GU502 is yet to be released so we dont know the exact price but heres what we have here 15.6 IPS screen with 120 or 240 Hz refresh rate, GTX 1660 Ti [you can also buy it with RTX 2060], 9th Gen Intel Core, 18.9 mm chassis and a whopping 76Wh battery. Sounds pretty good.

Dell G3 15 3579 [G3579]

Dell G3 15 3579, also known as G3579 is an old school notebook with a good price and a bit outdated design [thick bezels]. It sports the Max-Q variant of GTX 1660 Ti which is about 10% slower than the real thing so have in mind that when youre considering this one.

G5 15 [5590] is the mid-range gaming offer by Dell. It looks much better than theG3579, plus it sports the full-fledgedNVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti. Since weve tested theG5 15 5590 in our lab, we can say that were pretty impressed with its battery life, build quality and the optional 4K OLED screen. On the other hand, when heavy loaded this fella sounds like a helicopter and gets a bit hot on the surface.

Dell G7 15 [7590] is the best notebook of the G line-up by Dell. It can be ordered with up toIntel Core i9-9880H andNVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q. HP Pavilion Gaming 15 2019

HP Pavilion Gaming 15 2019 looks like a hardcore gaming machine but be warned its one of the models utilizing the Max-Q design by NVIDIA. Apart from that, it doesnt look like a bad model you can get it with144 Hz / IPS panel and Core i7-9750H. Were yet to review it.

HP Omen 15 [dc0000] / Omen 17 [2019]

The HP Omen series is one of the classics when it comes to mid-range/high-end gaming. The latest models are not an exception.15-dc0000/1000 is thetransitional model, which can be found with 8th and 9th gen CPUs and GTX/RTX video cards. The Omen 17 2019 is the latest addition and it comes with 9th gen Intel CPUs only and up to RTX 2080.

Lenovo Legion Y540

We havent tested Lenovo Legion Y540 yet butY530 got our Editors choice award. Y540 shouldnt be any different so we expect great results from the new model as well.

MSI GL63 9Sx /MSI GL73

We havent reviewed the 9th Gen MSI GL63 9Sx but its pretty much the same laptop as its predecessor 8Sx. Of course, well order one so we can check the performance and temperatures but we already know the pros and the cons of this series it has a very good cooling system, great keyboard, and its display can show100% of the sRGB color gamut.On the not-so-bright side, battery life is poor, the build is all-plastic and it has inaccurate colors [our profiles fix that].

MSI GL65 /MSI GL75

Its not very thin, its not very light. But it sports the full-fledged GTX 1660 Ti and MSI claims its the cooling system that makes the difference between this model and its competitors. Were yet to confirm ordisprove this so stay tuned for our in-depth review.

MSI GP75 Leopard

GP75 Leopard is a new series by MSI equipped with GTX 1660 Ti. We dont have info about other GPUs but we know that its powered by 9th Gen Intel processors and well have a choice between two 17.3 Full HD IPS screens with 144 Hz and with 60 Hz refresh rate.GP75 Leopard weighs about 2.6 kg which is okay given the screen size, however, the battery capacity is rather small just 51Wh. Dont expect to play for a long time without your charger.

MSI GS65 / GS75 Stealth

GS65 and GS75 are some pieces of art by MSI theyre17.9 mm [0.7] and18.95 mm [0.75] thin, respectively but that doesnt stop them from being powerful you can buy them with up toIntel Core i9-9880H andGeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q and as most of the latest high-end notebooks, GS65 and GS75 also come with a240 Hz / IPS display variant.
