The Ordinary concealer review Reddit

Hi everyone,

First time posting here but you guys are usually so insightful that I thought I'd give it a try. I'm running out of my HG concealer (MAC pro longwear concealer NC 30) and was thinking about giving the TO concealer a try. What are everyone's thoughts on it, especially for dry skin, emphasizing lines/ texture, longevity, and coverage. Any help with shade comparison/ matching would also be super helpful as it's hard to tell online (I was leaning towards either 2.1Y or 2.0YG).

A bit about what I usually look for: I've been using the MAC concealer for 5+ years now and LOVE it. I need a long wearing concealer that I could use to just touch up hyperpigmentation/ severe dark circles on my face on the daily (I don't wear any other face products, minimal makeup in general). I typically have very dry, sensitive skin but using a couple moisturizing products/ oils, I can make the MAC concealer work pretty well for me (without it irritating my skin) and I find it can last pretty well for most of the work day. I was just wondering if TO concealer would be comparable to the MAC one.

Thanks for the great advice everyone! I think I'll take the plunge and go for the darker shade since many of you mentioned that it runs a bit light. We'll see how it works with my skin type but like people mentioned, it's so affordable that it won't be breaking the bank even if it's a no-go.

Their serum foundation was the best colour match I ever had. The only problem is it really highlights and clumps to dry skin. Been eyeing this since it was announced.

Note: The Ordinary Concealer has been formulated to be slightly lighter in comparison to our offerings within our Serum/Coverage foundations.

The packaging is very similar to the discontinued CoverFx cream concealer

For only $5.80, I'll give it a try! Especially since my wfh makeup routine is basically just concealer + eyeliner

Am i missing something? Don't you want high coverage concealer? How else would it, well, conceal?

I’ll definitely try it. I love love love the ordinary but I tried both kinds of foundation and I didn’t love it. I liked the serum one slightly more than the regular one. I don’t have high hopes for it but the price is definitely right.

I haven't been excited about many products launches as of late but I'm genuinely curious about this one! Especially since TO is typically very affordable.

I bought some because I needed to restock on a couple things anyway. I love both of their foundations so I’m hoping this is also a hit. I’m glad for the “high slip” because those super dry concealers look awful on me 💀

As someone who loves their foundation, how do I pick which colour concealer to use? I use a 1.2p foundation, so should a 1.2p concealer be fine or do I go a shade down? I’m always nervous buying foundation/concealer online cause I can’t swatch it.

I haven’t had good luck with their foundation. Both formulas were identical and rubbed off easily. But at that price point I’m willing to try the concealer.

Perhaps I'm just dumb, but the swatches they've provided on their website and in their ig stories don't explain anything to me. They really needed to add another model with much lighter skin, so I could see the three lightest shades better. I will wait it out.

I have medium skin and I can't tell the colour of the swatches either.
