Attachments in Gmail messages you send and receive are automatically scanned for viruses. If an attachment you're trying to attach is infected with a virus, you'll see a "Virus detected!" error message. You'll see the option to send the email without the attachment. Virus in an email sent to youWhen Gmail finds a known virus attached to an email that's been sent to you, Gmail will reject the message and let the sender know. Why won't my scanner scan to my email? The most common reason scan to email can fail is because the size of the file you are creating is too large for the file size limit assigned to your email account. Almost every email account has a maximum file size to successfully send an email.
Why can't i scan to my email from my HP printer? You more than likely have the IP address and Gateway IP configured properly for the HP printer but if there is no DNS address entered, the printer will not have a way of sending email over the internet. Can you still use Gmail for scan to email?Starting on May 30, 2022, Google will no longer allow the account password to be used by the MFD. If your device is set up this way, scan to email will start failing on or after May 30th. A security upgrade to your Gmail account will be required to continue using Google for your scanning.
