Excellent! There were good review but few bad ones as well. Since the good ones over-weighed the bad ones, we decided to buy it based on Dell's reputation and Amazon's reliable services. Ordered it in Great Indian Sale [20-24 Sep, 2017] and got it for a Deal Price of Rs.29,990.00. Came well packaged by Amazon, as usual. Inside there was a sealed Dell box that included the Dell Vostro 3468 14-inch Laptop, charger and a CD with few documents. It comes pre-installed with Windows 10 Home, MS Office [pre-activated] and McAfee AntiVirus. 100% genuine OS and Software. It comes with all the ports that one may require, including a VGA and DVD RW, which are not seen in new laptops. For the first start, setting up the laptop took around 15-20 mins. Apart from that, few Windows Updates also installed automatically which again took 15-20 mins. But once everything was set, the experience was great. After everything was set, we registered the product online on Dell India website, the warranty was yet to start, which means we actually got warranty cover for over an year :]
This laptop is best suited for students, teachers, small traders and professionals whose work doesn't involve much of graphics or media editing. Simply put, this is suitable for word & excel processing, browsing, watching movies, checking mails, shopping online, using net-banking, etc. Those who say it is slow, please understand that this is an Intel i3 processor based laptop, and there are few technical difference between Intel i3 and i5 processors, like i3 has 2 cores and i5 has 4 cores, i3s don't have Turbo Boost feature whereas i5s does, and so on. If you want faster performance and you are heavy user, like gamer, youtuber, or you have heavy multimedia consumption go for the i5 version of Dell Vostro 14 3468 [//www.amazon.in/dp/B0756GZX85/]. I think there is also a variant of i5 model which includes a dedicated graphics cards and costs slightly higher.
Regarding issues, minor ones actually, there is a slight lag when you have opened multiple applications. To resolve this, we are planning to add another 4 GB of RAM. Hopefully, it will reduce the lag. [IMP: You should take the laptop to Dell authorised service center ONLY for any repairs or upgrades as long it is in warranty. If it is done by an unauthorised person or service centre, the warranty will void.] Also, we didn't find the trackpad usable. So we ordered a Logitech M235 Wireless Mouse. Battery life is good 3-6 hours based on usage. It charges very quickly. It took around 40 mins for a full charge. The screeen is anti-glare which meabs you can work for hours without any strain on you eyes but viewing angles are not great good. Keyboard is good. Surprisingly, it has got a fingerprint reader, just below the keyboard, which is responsive. We found the laptop compact and easy to carry.
Frankly, this laptop serves the purpose for which it is configured. So, if you are a student, a teacher, a professional with moderate usage or a trader who wants to manage the day-to-day affairs of their budding business, this laptop is for you. WARNING: This laptop is not for Gamers. Finally, despite all the product features and reviews, one has to understand their requirements and then decide which laptop configuration suits needs. Remember, as per Amazon return policy, if you receive a damage/defective laptop you can return it within 10 days of receiving it, ONLY for a replacement. Laptops cannot be returned for a refund.
