La colors pout lipgloss matte review

where this L.A. Colors Pout Lipgloss is included. Though I discovered this product through Moe's IG account @lipstickandmoe, not many Pinay beauty enthusiasts have shown their interest on this particular lip product. Hmmm, I wonder why :)

PRIZE, WHERE TO GET, AND PACKAGING

Priced at Php 149 with 4g of product, this L.A. Colors Pout Lipgloss Matte can be one of the most affordable "liquid lipsticks" available in our local department stores. You may get this at any L.A Colors Cosmetics kiosks in SM Department Stores, Watsons, and other leading malls. I got mine from Trinoma :)

Its packaging is similar to most of the liquid lipsticks being sold in the market. It is contained in a plastic tube with a black matte twist cap where you can find the product's ingredients, shade, expiration date, and other pertinent information.

The applicator of this L.A Colors Pout Lipgloss resembles the applicator of Imagic Matte Liquid Lipstick, both don't have the typical doe foot shaped applicator which helps to achieve a more precise application especially on the corners of the lips.

CONSISTENCY AND SCENT

Just like the Imagic Lipstick, I don't understand why this is called lipgloss when it really doesn't function as one. I checked on L.A Colors website and found out that the Pout Lipgloss line actually has two variants; Super Shine and Matte. The former can definitely be under the pout lipgloss line but not the latter, kasi nga matte diba? saken lang naman 'yon :)

Moving on, the consistency of this matte lipgloss is quite creamy and is very easy to apply as it doesn't set/dry fast. In fact, it really takes a long time before it sets, I'll elaborate this later on. Pigmentation is really good, and should you decide to still add a second layer, application is still a breeze since you don't need to wait for the first coat to dry to properly blend the second layer. As for the scent, it smells like a cupcake :)

SWATCHES

Freshly swatched- Delectable is a coral shade with a bit of an orange undertone. This goes well with a very simple eye makeup look; no eyeshadow needed, just long volumized lashes :)

LONGEVITY

1:15 PM- Freshly applied and about to have a movie date with mama *Beauty and the Beast mode on* :) It looked completely dry but in reality, it still did not set and it felt very tacky.

​1:45 PM- I'm in a taxi here so forgive the lighting. As mentioned earlier, this L.A. Colors Pout Lip Gloss Matte takes forever to dry (-_-) Note that 30 mins. has already passed since I applied this lip product and you can see that it's still way too tacky when I pressed my lips together.

6:00+ PM- Right after the movie and after eating a bucket of cheese flavored popcorn and drinking a small sized cup of sprite haha.

I sure had a nastly looking lips, there was an obvious bleeding in my lower lip and mind you, I was shocked to see product stains on my hand! (the hand I used in eating my popcorn). Sorry, I forgot to take a pic of my hand, I was just really mesmerized by the movie di ako naka move on agad :) Ugh! Beauty and the Beast is life! <3 haha. *Get back on track, Jen! :)

Anyway, I just ended up wiping all the stains in my hand and removing all the products left on my lips. I don't want to look like a crap while roaming around the mall. Oh, I just want to add, it did not leave any stain on my lips after removing it, I would've loved it if it did so there's no need for me to apply a different lip product to correct my pale lips.

FINAL THOUGHTS

To be fair, I wore this product again just to see if I'll be getting the same result and unfortunately, I did. I just hope that not all shades have the same formula and offer the same result (we know that's possible, right?) Anyhoo, let me go ahead and list the PROS and CONS for you.

PRO/S:

1. Affordable 2. Good shade selection, has 11 wearable shades 3. Very pigmented 4. Creamy and easy to blend

CON/S:

1. Takes almost an hour to completely set 2. Feels heavy and very tacky 3. Not long lasting 4. Not transfer proof (really messy) 5. Easily cracks and curdles when in contact with anything liquid even just plain water

As for me, I will no longer re-purchase this but I will find a way on how I can still use this sayang din kasi ang 149 pesos haha :)
