Among the new artists, Obama reaches for Georgia hip-hop trio Migos with their 2021 song "Straightenin." The playlist also features two songs by rapper Lil Baby, including one with Drake. Old school artists are represented by George Harrison, The Rolling Stones, Joni Mitchell and Ella Fitzgerald. Obama also shows his music passion with lesser-known artists such as Nezi, Masked Wolf and Brother Sundance. After the former president shared his playlist on Twitter, several people commented his post, with one saying: "President Barack Obama definitely has excellent taste in music!!! He knows his music and can sing as well." Another added: "Excellent choice on Simply Red...definitely not a household name, or new artist, but that voice!" One more person commented: "You have good taste in music, nice variety, not too much in one era or genre, balanced." Claptone, who worked on a remix of a song picked by Obama, also commented the tweet, saying: "I always knew, you were a man of fine taste, sir." Last year, Obama's playlist included Billie Eilish, Maggie Rogers, Common, John Legend, and Leon Bridge, as well as Megan Thee Stallion, Frank Ocean and Bob Dylan.
