Retinol b3 la roche posay review

I like to think I’ve always been in touch with my emotions, but if you told me last year that 2020-me would ugly-cry during the season finale of Selling Sunset or get misty-eyed in the greeting card aisle at Rite Aid, I wouldn’t have believed you. But it turns out six-plus months of social-distancing does strange things to your psyche — so much so that I’ve seriously considered taping a “Handle With Care” sign to my forehead.

And since our skin is often a reflection of our state-of-mind, it’s no wonder my once slightly-finicky skin is now better described as ultra-sensitive. Not exactly a great time to start using retinol — a vitamin-A derivative beloved for its ability to lessen fine lines and sun damage, but notorious for causing redness and irritation in the process.

But La Roche-Posay Retinol B3 Serum is not your average retinol — and the reason why is hinted at in its name. Aside from containing retinol, this blend includes vitamin B3, also known as niacinamide. The ingredient is known for brightening and improving elasticity, all while decreasing inflammation and helping skin retain moisture. It’s the latter benefits that make niacinamide and retinol — which can sometimes leave skin dry and flaky — a perfect pairing.

Sure, it sounds good on paper. But the real proof is in the fact that this formula consistently played nicely with my sensitive skin. After two weeks of use, my complexion was noticeably brighter. And after week three, I felt confident logging onto an all-staff Zoom meeting totally makeup-free.

That said, as with any retinol-based skin-care product, it’s important to slowly integrate it into your routine. I applied this serum twice (on a Wednesday and a Sunday) during my first week using it, then three times the second and third. I used it at night — and made sure to apply a healthy dose of SPF the following morning.

So here’s to feeling all the feels — and skin care that can empathize.

Seeing results

I have been applying this product to the back of my hands to minimize signs of aging. Dark spots are beginning to fade, and my skin seems to be smoother and less dry.

This is an excellent product and is priced very well. I have used it for about 5 days now and I have noticed visible positive results. My skin seems softer, brighter, and smoother.

Pearlina

A must in my skincare routine!!

Recommended by my dermatologist after acne treatment. This helps me to improve skin texture, regulates fat production and maintain my pores clean.

Great Starter Retinol

I have been trying to find a retinol product that is strong enough to be effective and doesn’t leave me flakey and dry. This is it! I only wish the dropper was better.

So irritating

I have to stop using this. Way to irritating. I only use a tiny bit and my skin doesn't like it at all.

Retinol B3 Serum

I have used several different retinol serum and lotions but La Roche-Posay is the best. It doesn’t dry my face out like the others and I’m able to use it everyday. It also brightened my skin, helped with making pores smaller and clearing up my hormonal acne on my chin. Great product.

Important

I have been using this for 2 weeks and so far it is working well for me just as I hoped it would. Not too drying and minimal peeling. It feels nice as I apply it and scent is good. As my skin adjusts to the product I will use it more often. For now I look forward to seeing the results of brighter skin, wrinkles and lines lessening and discoloration fading.

So far, so good!

At 50 yrs old, I was diagnosed with mild rosacea. I stopped using retinol to give my skin a break and find my new normal. After some time passed, I started a bit of research, looking for a new retinol formula. Having had good luck with L-P products, I purchased this. It has been gentle so far and is working. Others mentioned odor. Does smell, but not bad or overwhelming and dissipates quickly, imo. Does NOT seem to be aggravating my rosacea, I use every other night.

Best yet gentle retinol serum

I love this retinol serum as it is gentle for all skin types. My mom, cousin and I use it and we have diff skin types and it works for all of us. Plus it has niacinamide that helps brighten skin.

Great product

Not a harsh retinol. I switch back and forth between this product and another higher-expensive brand which is a stronger retinol. Great product for the price.

Like the product

Like this product and it is helping resurface skin. Started using twice every day and now applying only at bedtime, a little drying but I have very dry skin. Seems to be effective in its job.

I use this every night

My skin didn't change at all... I don't think I will repurchase it.

La Roche-Posay Retinol B3 Serum

This product is very good for sun damaged skin you see results less than 2 days. Love this.

gentle and effective

This product absorbs well and never irritates my skin. No peeling as can be the case with other retinol products. Feels great on your skin the moment you apply it. Can layer with another moisterizer but this alone is great in warmer months. I use it every other day and find my skin looks more radiant. Perhaps not as potent as as retinol products, but i like that it is gentle.

Great serum

The retinol B3 serum has a nice consistency and glides smoothly over the face. It has a slight scent but isn't bothersome. I apply it at night after I cleanse and wake up to a clear, tighter feeling face. This stuff has been great so far and I've already noticed my skin feeling and looking better. It's an excellent starter retinol and at a great price point.

It's good but still waiting to see a big improvement for my skin

I wanted to try this serum because it said it was supposed to help with skin discoloration. I have acne and I have pimple scars. When I apply this serum, it absorbs into my skin and leaves a sticky residue after. I then, apply the La Rosh-Posay moisturizer. I use this every other day only at night before bed. I have not seen a big improvement in my skin. I'm not sure if it just takes this product a long time to see results (been using for 3 weeks). As of now, I would not buy this product again.

Love it

I liked it a lot, although I have sensitive skin with rosacea, it has been very good for me. I only use it 2 times a week, which I have considered prudent for my skin to adapt.

La Roche -Posay Retinol B3 Serum

I haven’t used it that long to see the difference on my skin. I like the consistency of the serum. It glides easily on my face. I will continue to use it. I will reevaluate and write a comment after few weeks of good results. Thanks.
