A reinterpretation of the 1993 adidas Originals EQT Support, the latest build comes equipped with a water-repellent mesh upper and a GORE-TEX inner lining (hence the GTX moniker).

The usual EQT Support design elements like the asymmetrical tongue and soft TPU heel supports are here, but the shoe has been enhanced with reflective laces, a sturdy rubber outsole, and a Boost midsole.

The EQT Support 93/17 GTX will be available on December 26 at adidas Originals flagship stores, online, and at select retailers. adidas has not announced pricing information.

Which way do you turn after you’ve experienced Ultra Boost? According to people in the comments on my old Youtube channel, the Adidas EQT Support 93/17 Off White is a good example of a next move.

I’m a fan of the EQT line overall so these seemed like a good bet, and this particular releases gets its name from the colorway. The offwhite color lends well to being paired with other monochromatic type colors. So black, white or grey clothes are going to be key. This is a very tech looking shoe, so you’re better off going with joggers or track pants as opposed to jeans and a t-shirt.

How Are The Materials?

These feature a knit upper with some leather bits above the midsole towards the rear of the shoe. Overall the quality is nice on these even with a lack of suede and minimal leather. A shoe like this with a mostly knit construction has to be judged a little differently. The knit is definitely thick and of good quality.

How Do They Fit?

The Adidas EQT Support 93/17 Off White fit perfectly snug at true to size. Some may not be able to get past the “burrito tongue” that wraps around, but it actually lends to a sock like fit, which works for these. Of course the boost is large and in charge on this shoe for maximum comfort.

How do these stack up vs the Ultraboost? For me these have a very similar feel; they hug your foot and have a chunky boost outsole. I’m not sure which I prefer – the look on these is so extreme it might not be as easy to wear as the UB, however the comfort is right there so depending on your style these may actually be a better look!

A popular adidas Equipment retro has gotten a comfy reimagining and now, the adidas EQT Support 93/17 Boost has released online.

The updated EQT was announced in January and was well-received due to the full-length Boost added to the midsole, bringing the soft cushioning system onto the classic model. The upper is also updated with a combination of mesh and “Pixel-knit”, which is a form of Primeknit with different colors added for the pixelated look.

With the unprecedented success adidas has seen with their boost strapped sneakers like the Utraboost and NMD (I will leave Yeezy out of the conversation), it appears like there is no slowing down the momentum for the brand with the three stripes. When the EQT launched in July 2016, I fell in love with the silhouette and went on to own 3 different pairs. The only thing I felt was missing in the line-up was a Boost/Primeknit combined EQT. Surely enough, the first iteration came with a Primeknit upper combined with Boost. However thereafter, for reasons unknown, the brand has kitted out the EQT Boost with circular knit which is a mesh like material.

This version came with a knit medial side, unlike the earlier releases that came with suede leather hits.

1. Comfort – The EQT 93-17 has the highest amount of Boost amongst all the existing sneakers in the market. This makes it the comfiest pair of kicks to stand in, for long hours. However, the upper is not PK as on the UltraBoost. Therefore it is not a like-for-like comparison. I would rate it at par with the UltraBoost at the moment in terms of comfort. Were it a PK upper, the EQT Boost perhaps would have shot ahead on points.
2. Support – This is a lifestyle sneaker, not meant for performance running. Therefore, although it has adequate support on the heel and mid-foot I would not recommend you use it for anything other than your day-to-day life. The UltraBoost is a proper running sneaker and has a Continental rubber outsole. It’s just that people use it as a lifestyle sneaker as well. Like all EQT sneakers, this variant also comes with an Ortholite in-sole.
3. Aesthetics – I love the silhouette on the sneaker. The sharp drop from ankle to toe, the muscular lines on the Boost mid-sole, the Burrito tongue, medial side cage, etc. The only complaint I have here is that due to my broad feet, the tongue pops out instead of wrapping around my ankle neatly. Perhaps half a size up would solve that, but then this is a perfect True To Size fit.
4. Utility of Elements – The dubrae on the EQT Boost serves no purpose and is only a visual element, much like the cage on the medial side. Although they don’t have a utilitarian purpose, they lend top points to the overall appearance of the sneaker. For instance the cage on the medial side wraps around and ends at the heel, while on the lateral side you have the ribbon like 3 stripes.

Verdict – I would strongly recommend the EQT Support line of sneakers, Boost or not. But with Boost, it changes the game altogether. I dare say, these are the comfiest sneakers I have worn in 2017, second only to the UltraBoost (again, not including the Yeezy in this list). It even beats the NMD by miles.

EQT Boost models are readily available to buy off the shelf at adidas Originals stores across the country. Won’t have to pay those ridiculous reseller prices.

Are adidas EQT comfortable?

These are amazingly comfortable shoes! They look great although I was not a huge fan of how they look once on cuz the mesh is pretty flexible so your feet profile are visible, like with a sock! Maybe it's just cuz I've never owned a pair of socks with soles but once you get past it they look great! Love these shoes!

How do adidas EQT fit?

They felt true to size for me. My only concern is the mesh material. These are my first pair that are made with this material and I feel like I will rip it easily.
